The Bible says, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”  Perfect peace emanates from your trust in the Lord and your ability to keep your mind stayed on Him.  You know whether your mind is stayed on the Lord.  Where is your mind throughout the day?  If it is not stayed on the Lord, then your trust in the Lord is weakened and your peace is diminished.

You won’t have perfect peace with a:

Blinded Mind – 2 Cor 4:4 – the devil blinds the minds of the lost from the light of the gospel.

Corrupt Mind – 2 Cor 11:3 – religion corrupts your mind from the simplicity that is in Christ.

Proud Mind – Dan 5:20 – pride hardens your mind against the truth of the Lord.

Worrisome Mind – Phil 4:6-7 – worries prevail over the peace of God and weaken your trust in Him.

Shaken Mind – 2 Thes 2:2 – the political, economic and international news shake up your mind.

Double Mind – Jas 1:8 – a double mind tries to force its will and God’s will at the same time.

Carnal Mind – Rom 8:6-7; 1 Cor 2:14 – the natural man cannot receive and discern spiritual things.

Defiled Mind – Titus 1:15; 2 Cor 10:5 – the imagination exalts itself against the knowledge of God.

Reprobate Mind – Rom 1:28 – sin overtakes your mind with pleasures that are worthy of death.

You will have perfect peace with a:

Loving Mind – Matt 22:37 – fully loving the Lord with your mind leaves no room for the above.

Renewed Mind – Rom 12:2 – a renewed mind aligns your thinking with the Bible continuously.

Willing Mind – 2 Cor 8:12 – willingness prepares your mind for more dependence upon the Lord.

Humble Mind – Acts 20:19; Phil 2:5 – humility trusts the Lord’s will and thereby yields peace.

Single Mind – 2 Cor 13:11; Phil 2:2 – like-mindedness with others prevents division and strife.

Conclusion: You want to strengthen those forces that help you to keep your mind stayed on the Lord and you want to diminish the forces that draw your mind away from the Lord.  The more you can strengthen the positive forces and remove the negative forces the more your mind is going to be stayed on the Lord, the greater your trust and the more perfect your peace.
