Truth is Fallen, Is 59:14

Truth is Fallen Is 59:14 CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO

Is 59:14 says, And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.  We have seen this verse fulfilled in our own country.  Except for places like a Bible believing preacher’s pulpit, you will rarely find truth.  Often, journalists portray self-made narratives in their headlines and stories which are false.  Press releases are often false.  Legislation is often titled with words that portray the exact opposite of what the law will require or accomplish.  On rare occasions you find truth in media.

You might be asking why this is.  We’ll attempt to show you through scripture why this is.  You might be also asking what can be done about it.  And we can tell you simply, “Nothing can be done about it.”  You must simply discipline yourself to find the answers in God’s words and quit listening to lies.  Like the psalmist said in Ps 119:128, “Therefore I esteem all they precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way.”

Truth is fallen because:

Men love lies – Jer 5:31 – The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so.  They lie and they listen to lies because they love lies [Rev 22:15].  Mic 2:11 If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie… he shall even be the prophet of this people.  They love lying prophets.  Thus, truth is fallen.

Men twist truth – Gen 3:1-6 – they learned this from the devil.  In Gen 3 the devil caused Eve to doubt the words of God by questioning them.  Then they added to, subtracted from, changed and lied about God’s words.  And men have been twisting the truth ever since.  In Jn 8:43-45, Jesus said to the Pharisees, “Ye are of your father the devil.”  They fabricate lies to get their way. In 1 Ki 21:9-13, Jezebel and the elders fabricated a lie against Naboth so that they could kill him and assign his vineyard to Ahab.  In Jer 23:25-32, the Lord tells us in no uncertain terms that the prophets prophesy lies.  Thus, truth is fallen.

Men hate truth – Jn 14:6 Jesus said, I am the truth.  And they hate Jesus [Jn 15:18].  Micaiah prophesied the truth and Ahab hated him [1 Ki 22:8, 16-18].  Ahab, due to his hatred of the truth, disregarded what Micaiah preached [1 Ki 22:27-29] and died in the battle exactly as Micaiah prophesied.  In Gal 4:16, Paul asked the Galatians, “Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?”  Thus, truth is fallen.

Men shout down truth – Acts 21:40, 22:21-23 – Paul spoke the truth before a mob in Jerusalem and they shouted him down.  Festus spoke in a loud voice and told Paul that he was mad when Paul was telling him the truth [Acts 26:24-25].  Prov 14:3 in the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride.  Acts 7:57-58 “Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord, and cast him out of the city, and stoned him (Stephen)…”  They’ll kill the messenger of truth. They killed Jesus.  And they killed Zechariah [2 Chr 24:20-21].

Conclusion: so, that’s why truth is fallen in the street.  Stay in the Bible and stay away from the lies.  Read lots of Bible and listen to very little news until you can read an article or see a video clip of someone who knows and tells the truth.
