Why I Believe the Bible is the Word of God

1 Thessalonians 2:13

In this lesson I will give some of the reasons for why I believe that God is the author of the Bible instead of man.

1) The person of God (John 1:1-3,14 ; 1 John 1:1 ; 5:7 ; Revelation 19:13)

• The word of God is alive (1 Peter 1:23 ; Galatians 3:7-8)
• The word of God is powerful (Hebrews 4:12)
• The word of God is preserved (Psalm 12:6-7)

2) The Knowledge of God (What the Bible knows)

• The earth is round (Isaiah 40:21-22)
• Day and Night same time (Luke 17:30-34)
• Wind Circuits (Ecclesiastes 1:6)
• How it rains (Ecclesiastes 1:7)
• The moon does not shine (Job 25:5)
• Fingerprints of man (Job 37:7)
• Light is moving (Job 38:9)
• Light can be parted (Job 38:24)
• Electricity and communications (Job 38:35)

3) The Position of God (John 14:6)

• While all of the things above are amazing, one of the greatest proofs that man did not author the Bible is because in the Bible there is no way out for man.
• The Bible says that all are sinners and Jesus Christ is the answer for sin and he alone is the way to heaven.
• If man had written the Bible he would have put in a loop hole for himself.
