Weighed Down with a Load of Care

Matt 11:28-29 How To Deal With Stress CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO

I don’t recall a time when I have seen myself, so many of you and so many of my friends weighed down with such a load of care.  We have to be able to function with this load without getting so stressed out that we can’t function or that we take it out on someone else.  How do we manage?

Seek the Lord’s face – Matt11:28-30 – go to Jesus and get some rest – seek his face [Ps 105:4] and “the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of his glory and grace”

Take up your cross – Matt 16:24-25 – for two reasons – you were redeemed by Jesus on the cross so you are his 1 Cor 6:19-20 – and at the cross, your will dies to his will “not my will but thine be done” – we get frustrated when God’s will is not our will

Count your blessings – Ps 68:19 – the trouble with getting loaded down with care is that you concentrate on the one or two or three bad things going on and forget the thousands of wonderful things the Lord is doing at the same time – a girl’s pimple is so menacing to her that it causes her to forget her beauty and wonderful character

Remember the Lord cares – Ps 142:4 versus 1 Pet 5:7 – God will take care of you – you took care of your children and your father took care of you

Don’t forget to pray – Phil 4:6-7 – peace in that prayer that you cannot get from trying to handle the stuff all by yourself – pray till you know the peace and then leave it with the Lord
