Our text is 1 Cor 15:50-58 – I’ve always wanted to be on the winning side – I like victory more than defeat – and when you are with Jesus you are guaranteed the victory – you are guaranteed:

Victory over Sin – Rom 6:14 – sin shall not have dominion over you because of Christ’s substitution [2 Cor 5:21] and because of our crucifixion with him [Gal 2:20]

Victory over Mortality – 2 Cor 5:4 – thus we die daily because ultimately following our mortality we have immortality

Victory over Death – as a preacher said, “Death is as common as birth, as impartial as the law of gravitation and as uncertain as a thief” – yet to die is to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord – through death, the Lord gave us victory over death [Heb 2:14-15]

Victory over the Grave – the grave cannot hold us [1 Thes 4:16]

Conclusion: therefore we can do what 1 Cor 15:58 tells us to do, we can be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord
