Jesus is Coming Soon

Jesus Is Coming Soon 2 Timothy 4:7-8 CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO

Do you believe that Jesus is coming soon?  Are you living like you believe that?  People who believe that Jesus is coming soon:

Love His Appearing – 2 Tim 4:8 – they are looking for the Blessed Hope Titus 2:13 – like the hymn says, “Oh, I want to see him, look upon his face, there to sing forever of his saving grace, on the streets of glory, let me lift my voice, cares all past, home at last, ever to rejoice” – His coming will fulfill most of the remaining prophecies to be fulfilled in the Bible – the trouble is that it is the end of the world and therefore the end of your world – and for that reason a lot of Christians aren’t in love with his appearing – He offers the crown of rejoicing for those who love his appearing, so this is not just a casual desire.

Keep the Faith – 2 Tim 4:7 – well, we know where faith comes from Rom 10:17 – lots of churches and Christians have given up on the KJV and they have also drifted away from so many doctrines of the faith [hell, rapture, witnessing, etc] – Paul said that they should be rebuked Titus 1:13-14 – the move is to become more ecumenical – we cannot – we must keep the faith as we anticipate His return – he asked his disciples in Lk 18:8, “When the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?”

Purify Themselves – 1 Jn 3:3 – sin is rampant today among Christians – believers are seeing how much they can get away with – they walk as closely as they can to sin – but the truth is that if you believe that Jesus is coming soon, the last thing you want is to be caught in sin on his return. Live holy!

Reject Deception – Matt 24:3-4 – false doctrine is so subtil at times – psychology is being passed off in the Christian bookstores as Bible and sensuality has become the wisdom of the churches [Jas 3:15] – all of this deception stems from a common root, “men shall be lovers of their own selves,” [2 Tim 3:1-2] – if you love his appearing, the last thing you would ever consider doing is falling in love with yourself.

Assemble Together – Heb 10:25 – the more the day approaches the more they have cut out the Sunday evening and Wednesday evening services – this is not the response of a people who believe he’s coming soon – we assemble often because we DO believe he’s coming soon.

Wake Up – Rom 13:11-14 – Christians are living in dishonesty with God and with themselves and they are making more than ample provision for the flesh – they have drifted into a slumber – WAKE UP – he’s coming soon and those who believe it are wide awake and not walking in the dishonesty of those who walk in darkness.

Get Saved – 1 Thes 5:1-10 – 2 Cor 6:2 – Jesus IS coming soon and the best way for a lost person to get ready for his arrival is to receive Jesus today – if he comes and you are not saved you are going to get left behind – hell awaits those who reject him – heaven is the home of those who receive him.

Conclusion: You need to look at your life seriously, Christian, and let the Holy Spirit show you where you are not living as one who believes Jesus is coming soon.  And if you are here today without Christ, you need to receive him!
