Go Forward, Ex 14:15

Go Forward

Our text is Ex 14:15, “speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward”.  To understand this instruction from the Lord we must read and consider the context from Ex 14:1-15.

The Jews appeared to be trapped.  They were entangled in the land, v.3, and Pharaoh and the Egyptians, with 600 chariots, were behind them, v.10.  And the Red Sea was before them.

They cried out to Moses.  And God told them to “Go Forward”.  Of course, God had to part the Red Sea for the Jews to cross into the wilderness.  And the sea had to return to drown Pharaoh and his army.  They couldn’t stay where they were.

Don’t get stuck where you are. Go forward despite what the future looks like.  To you it seems impossible.  But not to God.

God will keep your adversaries from stopping you (the Jews escaped).

God will miraculously open the way for you (parted the Sea).

God will provide your need for you (manna and water).

God will protect you (Amalek).

God will get you to the finish line (they made it to Canaan).

Whatever you do don’t stay in or go back to Egypt, v.12.  Go forward and God’s presence will go with you the whole way.
