Answer The Words of Truth, Prov 22:17-21

Answer The Words of Truth

How would you like to be able to answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee?  See Prov 22:17-21.

You can, but it’s going to take work.

It’s a work of the child of God

You must hear his words – v.17.

You must apply what he said to your heart – v.17.

You must speak what he said – v.21.

The man that heareth speaketh constantly, Prov 21:18.  Rhoda… constantly affirmed that it was even so, Acts 12:15, when Peter knocked at the door.  Constantly is steadily; invariably.  That is, the person who speaks constantly says what he hears the same way he hears it.  Like Jesus did, Jn 12:49-50.

The heart of the righteous studieth to answer, Prov 15:28.  In order to answer the words of truth, you must study the words of truth, and this takes work, 2 Tim 2:15.

It’s a work of the word of God

The word gets fitted in thy lips, v.18.

Thus, you can answer the words of truth, v.21.

Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh.  What’s hidden in your heart comes out of your mouth when you speak. If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God, 1 Pet 4:11.

It’s a work of the Spirit of God

I have made known to thee, v.19.

Have not I written to thee, v.20.

That I might make thee know, v.21.

The Lord’s Spirit is the author and he is the one who gives these words to you, Jn 14:26.  When the men spoke, it was the Spirit who gave them the words.  Holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. 2 Pet 1:21

When the apostles prayed they were filled with the Holy Ghost and they spake the word of God with boldness, Acts 4:31.  When Paul preached, he preached in demonstration of the Holy Ghost and power, 1 Cor 2:4-5.

Jesus said, “As my Father hath taught me, I speak these things”, Jn 8:28

You start hanging around Jesus and bowing down your ear to his words and you’ll start talking like him.  “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them that they had been with Jesus”, Acts 4:13.

Sure enough, when someone comes to you asking about the Lord and his words, you will be able to “answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee”.
