We preached last week on Col 2:8, “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”  Today, in an effort to show you how to avoid these things, we are going to preach about the truth.

The truth is in Jesus Christ – Jn 14:6

The truth is in the Bible – Jn 17:17, Jn 8:31-32

The truth is in Honest Obedience – Rom 13:13, Jas 1:22

Conclusion: Until you receive the Lord Jesus Christ you are living in deception if you think that without him you will be in heaven when you die.  If you have received him and you are not living in accordance with the truth of the word of God, you are living in disobedience and deception.  You need to honestly obey the truth that the Lord has shown you from his words.
