Satan and the Anti-Christ
(Part 1)
In this 3-part series we are going to be looking at the both Satan and the anit-christ. We will explore some of the different aspects of each of them as well as show their connection to one another. In looking at these to beings we will also show how Satan has used the mystery of iniquity to set things up for the coming of the anti-christ. We will conclude this study by showing how both the end of the anti-christ and Satan.
Satan’s Beginning: (Isaiah 14:12-14 ; Ezekiel 28:12-19)
In the above two passages we see that Satan was created as Lucifer, the anointed cherub that covereth. We are also given some insights as to his corruption and fall in which he became Satan. Note that in Isaiah 14:14 in one of his five “I wills”, he says that he will be like the most high. From this we learn that that one of his greatest goals is to be worshipped like God. To accomplish this, he will imitate or counterfeit everything God does to deceive man into thinking he is God or at least worship him as God.
The Counterfeit Begins: (Genesis 3:15)
This verse is a great verse in the word of God. It shows us several important things regarding Jesus and Satan. We will list these below:
- Satan will have a seed (this seed will be connected with the anti-christ as we will show later)
- The woman will have a seed (this is the 1st prophesy of the virgin birth because the seed comes from the man) This is a prophetic reference to Jesus Christ and his virgin birth.
- The seed of the woman (Jesus) will bruise the head of the serpent (Satan), therefore from this point onward Satan does everything he can to stop the seed from being born.
In this prophesy of the virgin birth, we see one of Satan’s great counterfeits. Many of the ancient religions that existed before the time of the birth of Jesus Christ had virgin births associated with their origins in some way. Satan planted these lies into those religions so that when Jesus did show up it would look like Jesus was just a counterfeit of these ancient religions. There are many who argue this today and say that the early Christians just copied from the ancient religions and invented the story of Jesus Christ.
An Example of Satan’s counterfeit for worship:
In Ezekiel 28:14 we saw that Satan was created as the anointed cherub that covert, but what is a cherub? If we compare the living creatures before the throne in Ezekiel 1:10, 10:14 and Revelation 4:7 we can see what a cherub is connected with by looking at the faces of the creatures.

From this comparison we see that the face of a cherub is an ox or a calf. This should not surprise us when we see that the first idol the nation of Israel made and worshipped after leaving Egypt was a calf (Exodus 32:1-10). Note also the other times that Israel is worshipping or kissing calves (1 King 19:18 ; Hosea 13:15). Is it any wonder that even today the cow is sacred in many different religions around the world? Even in America where our idols are things like money, sex, education etc. there is a giant bull that sits outside of wall street which is one of the biggest examples of our financial system.
So, in the first lesson we plainly see how Satan is the great counterfeiter and how he uses it as a way to be like God and also be worshipped.
