His Son Jesus Christ, Rom 1:3-4

When Paul wrote to the Romans he spoke of the gospel of God “concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord”, Rom 1:3.  Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh.

His Son Jesus Christ is:

The Son of God – Rom 1:4.  Our God is a consuming fire.  If it weren’t for Jesus we could not approach him.  God is also love and we know this love through Jesus Christ.  For God so loved the world… We love him because he first loved us.

Jesus is our friend.  He abides in us.  He helps us.  Also, he understands us because he became a man.  He comforts us.  With him we have continual fellowship.

The Righteousness of God – Rom 10:3-4.  Jesus is the righteousness of God for our salvation, 2 Cor 5:21.  All religious people miss this because they go about to establish their own righteousness.  Jesus is our righteousness.

His righteousness is also our victory over sin, Rom 6:12-16.  We can yield to his righteousness, not to our sin.  And thereby sin has no dominion over us.

The Power of God – 1 Cor 1:24.  The world is allured by power.  The power of combustion.  And the power of human strength.  Also, the power of fire, water, wind, volcanoes, and earthquakes.  Thus, people in the Tribulation will be deceived by the power of the antichrist, 2 Thes 2:9-12.

But they have overlooked the power of His Son Jesus Christ.  He created all of this, he keeps it together, and he will destroy it all in a moment.

His power is the power that now worketh in us, Eph 3:20.  He has power over all other powers in the universe.  Even power over the devil… be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might, Eph 6:10-12.  Likewise, he has power over the flesh and the world.

The Wisdom of God – 1 Cor 1:24.  The world is enamored with wisdom.  Eve was tempted by a tree that was to be desired to make one wise.  They think they have wisdom because of their education.  They find knowledge on the internet and mistake it for wisdom.

The wisdom we need is divine wisdom.  This wisdom of God is in Hos Son Jesus Christ.  He has the wisdom for our direction, discernment, decisions, and duty.  When you ask him, Jesus will guide you by his wisdom, Jas 1:5.

Conclusion: By comparison to the wisdom of God, the wisdom of this world is foolishness.  Likewise, the wisdom of God is foolishness to the world.  1 Cor 1:21 says, “For after that in the wisdom of God the wold by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe”.

Jesus Christ died and rose again to save you from your sins and to give you eternal life.  Are you going to wisely accept his gift of eternal life or are you going to foolishly reject it?
