Blessed Is The Man

Blessed is the man…

Who delights in the law of the Lord, Ps 1:1-2.  This person loves the word of God and meditates in it day and night.  This way the word gives him direction for his life.  He listens to the Lord and goes the way the Lord wants him to go, when God wants him to go, and at the pace the Lord wants him to go.

Thus, he does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly.  Their counsel is contrary to God.  It’s like the counsel Nehemiah received from those who were trying to make him quit building the wall.  He doesn’t stand in the way of sinners.  That would be like standing on the tracks in the way of a train.  And he doesn’t sit in the seat of the scornful who disdain God’s words. A student took a failing grade in class for answering a question truthfully, rather than the way the unbelieving professor desired.

Look at God’s blessings in v.3.  This man is blessed to bring forth fruit in his season and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
