God’s Will for My Life

God’s Will for My Life

1 Thes.4:3

Finding God’s will for your life is very simple. The Bible clearly states what is the will of God for you. We make the mistake of confusing it and God’s plan for your life. God has a plan for your life which concerns what He wants you to accomplish, that is specific to you and you alone. God’s Will for your life is what he wants to accomplish in ALL of us. The best way to find out what God’s plan for you is to Get to doing what is His will.

God wills these seven specific things for all of our lives:

  1. 1 Thes.4:3-7 Our Sanctification
    1. God has called each of us to Holiness
    2. We are to be a vessel “meet for the master’s use” [2 Tim. 2:19-22]
    3. This process produces that “pure heart”
  2. 1 Thes. 5:18 Our Thankfulness
    1. God has call each of us to be Thankful “in all things”
    2. And “for all things” [Eph. 5:20]
    3. Thankfulness comes with a great promise [Phil. 4:6-7] the peace of God
  3. 2 Pet. 3:9 Our Witness
    1. God has called each of us to be a witness of His Gift
    2. [Acts 1:8] We are to be witnesses, wherever God has you
    3. [1 Thes.4:12] A honest testimony or walk provides another promise of God
  4. 1 Pet. 2:13-15 Our Submission to every ordinance of Man
    1. Your submission to the ordinances of man puts them to silence
    2. Don’t be a hypocrite [Luke 6:41-42]
    3. As of now there is no law of man that forces you to sin, if that time comes, you must obey God [Acts 5:25-29]
  5. 12:1-2 Our Transformation
    1. Being not conformed but transformed
    2. Your transformation allows you to “prove” not “find” the will of God
    3. [2 Cor.5:17] There should be some changes in your life!
  6. 6:5-8 Our Service
    1. We serve Christ in all that we do
    2. Romans 12 spoke of your “reasonable service”
    3. [1 Cor.12:12-14, 27] Serve where you are in the body
  7. 5:15-17 Our Attention
    1. Walk circumspectly (cautiously)
    2. Redeeming the time
    3. Seeking to understand what the will of the Lord is

The Bible is very clear on these seven things that are the will of God in all of our lives. If we strive to do these, then God will have a far easier time directing our paths to His plan for our life.
