The Number Seven :
The number seven is connected with God and completion. The first occurrence is found in Genesis 5:7. When God does completes something the number seven will usually be connected with it. In the creation of the world we live in right now God worked six days and rested on the seventh. The seventh day under the law given to the children of Israel would become a day of rest for them, a day in which no work could be done. It points to the 1000 reign of the Lord Jesus Christ during which the earth will be at rest and there will be peace. Remember that with the Lord one day is as 1000 years and 1000 years as one day (2 Peter 3:8), therefore even though the actual days of the creation in Genesis were literal days of 24 hours one could say that if each of these days represents 1000 years then the seven day would represent the 1000 year reign of the Lord Jesus Christ on this earth.
The very last book of the Bible is Revelations therefore if it is the last book and God completes things using the number seven then there should be sevens all through the book of Revelations. Below is a list of some of the sevens found in the book of Revelation, as you will note it is a book filled with sevens.

It is interesting to note that in the King James Bible the word Jehovah is only found 7 times (Genesis 22:14 ; Exodus 6:3 ; Exodus 17:15 ; Judges 6:24 ; Psalm 83:18 ; Isaiah 12:2 ; Isaiah 26:4). Notice also out of these seven times that the middle one is Judges 6:24 and that is the 7th book of the Bible. In a King James Bible you will find 31,102 verses. Note that 3+1+1+0+2=7, God really knew what he was doing when he inspired those men to put in the verses because most of the modern day translations will leave out a verse or two and that mess that number up so that it does not add up to 7. Note also that King James commissioned the translation of the King James Bible in 1604 and it was finished in 1611 that is 7 years, God is just simply amazing.
In the book of Leviticus you will find 7 feasts unto the Lord that the children of Israel were to offer. You will also find that the Lord Jesus Christ spoke 7 saying from the cross of Calvary. Other sevens in the word of God will be 7 judgments, 7 baptisms, 7 mysteries, etc. The word of God is filled with sevens and when God completes something it is done with the number 7.
The Number Eight :
The number eight is connected with something new or new things. The first occurrence is in Genesis 5:4. With the number 7 we saw completion therefore when we see the number 8 it will usually have to do with something new. For instance the 8th day is actually the 1st day of a new week.
There were 8 people on the ark (1 Peter 3:20) and when they got off the ark they started new again with the earth. According to the Old Testament (Genesis 17:12) a male child was to be circumcised on the 8th day. There are 8 main covenants in the bible and the 8th one is called the “new covenant” (Hebrews 8:8) note chapter 8 verse 8.
Jesus was raised on the first day of the week (Luke 24:1) which could actually be called the 8th day. As a result of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ the new birth is possible (1 Peter 1:3). In John 3:3-8 the Lord Jesus Christ is talking with Nicodemus about the new birth and although it has not come yet it is interesting that in those verses the word “born” is used eight times. Nothing God does is without significance.
The Number Nine :
The number nine is connected many times with fruitfulness but this may not be as consistent as the others. The first occurrence is found in Genesis 5:5. Abraham was 99 years old when Sarah conceived. This is of great note because Sarah had been barren and never had a child and Abraham considered his flesh dead in that he could not father a child. But Isaac was the seed that was promised to Abraham and the seed denotes something fruitful.
In Genesis 3:15 we see that God told the serpent (satan) that he would put enmity between the woman and him and between her seed and his seed. Now it is interesting that the woman is said to have a seed here. The woman has no seed. In reproduction the seed comes from the man. Therefore what you have here is the first prophesy of the Lord Jesus Christ being born of a virgin and note that the chapter and verse number adds up to nine (3+1+5=9). Also in Genesis 9:9 we see that God is establishing a covenant with Noah and his seed after him. Once again the number nine is connected with a seed and a seed is connected with bearing fruit.
In John 12:24 Jesus says “that except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die it abideth alone; but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” This is interesting because the chapter number and verse number add to 9 (1+2+2+4=9) but also because Jesus was speaking of his own death and in Matthew 27:46-50 we see he died at about the 9th hour. His death burial and resurrection has brought forth more fruit than can be numbered.
In Galatians 5:22-23 we see that there are 9 fruits of the spirit. This is interesting because Galatians is the 9th book of the New Testament. Galatians has 9 letters and 5+2+2=9. Along these lines it is interesting to note that the words “Holy Bible” have 9 letters. The words King James has 9 letters and 1611 the year the King James Translation was first printed adds up to 9 (1+6+1+1=9). Now this is not just a coincidence because still today 400 years later that book is still a best seller and is still producing fruit when all many other modern translations have faded away.
By now it should be very clear that not only did God inspire his word but he preserved it for us in a King James Bible and clearly you can see God’s hand in it which means that we can trust it and also live by what it says with assurance in what it says.
The Number Ten :
The number ten is connected with Gentiles and Gentile kingdoms. The first occurrence of the number is found in Genesis 5:14. The second occurrence of the number is found in Genesis 16:3. Note that both of these references add up to make 10 (5+1+4=10 ; 1+6+3=10). As we have seen over and over again in this study this is no coincidence this is the hand of God once again giving us proof that he both inspired his work and preserved in the form he wanted it in the King James Bible. Note also that we said that when God finished something he counted by sevens, but Gentiles count by 10’s.
Biblically speaking if you are not a Jew you are a Gentile. A Jew would be a descendant of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Therefore there were no Jews before Abraham. After the flood Noah and his wife and their three sons and their wives were the only ones on the earth. This is interesting because Noah is the tenth from Adam and technically speaking he would be the father of the Gentiles because it was by his three sons that the whole earth was populated. Now it is also interesting that the Gentile genealogies of these three sons are found in Genesis Chapter 10. Also note that the first Gentile kingdom is found in Genesis 10:10. It was the kingdom of Nimrod called Babel. The last Gentile kingdom that will be in control on this earth before the second advent of the Lord Jesus Christ will made up of 10 different nations (Revelations 17).
In John chapter 10 we see Jesus giving the discourse on the good shepherd. In this he says that he has sheep which are not of this fold (verse 16) and these will turn out to be gentiles. In Acts chapter 10 we see the Holy Ghost is given unto the gentiles by simply believing on the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 10:43-44). Also the great chapter that is used to lead many people to the Lord Jesus Christ in the book of Romans is chapter 10. It is not a coincidence that number 10 is used with these things it shows us once again the inspiration and preservation of the word of God in a King James Bible.
The Number Twelve :
The number twelve is connected with the Jews and also a perfect government under the Jews. The first occurrence of the number is found in Genesis 5:8. As we just saw above after God scattered the nations in Genesis 11 he called out Abraham to start a new group of people that would be his people and this is recorded for us in Genesis chapter 12.
We see that there is eventually 12 tribes of the nation of Israel. When the children of Israel are called out of Egypt they go out in Exodus chapter 12. When they had left Egypt they went to Elim where there were twelve wells of water (Exodus 15:27). There were 12 spies sent into the land of Canaan. Over and over again we see the number 12 dealing with Israel.
The Lord Jesus Christ is the king of the Jews and will one day set up his millennial reign and rule the whole world from the throne of David and their will finally be a perfect government. It is interesting that the first recorded word of the Lord Jesus Christ in the word of God were when he was 12 years old (Luke 2:41-52). He chose 12 disciples.
In Revelation 12 we see a woman with a crown of twelve stars and this woman represents Israel. In Revelation 21 we see that New Jerusalem has 12 gates, 12 angels at the gates, 12 foundations, 12 stones in the 12 foundations. The city is 4 square that measures 12,000 furlongs, the wall is 144 cubits which is 12×12. On the new earth in Revelation 22 we see the tree of life which bears twelve manner of fruit.
The Number Thirteen :
The number thirteen is connected with rebellion and with evil, bad things and also the anti-christ. As we go through this information you will see how even though the number thirteen is connected with several things they are all connected in some ways.
The first occurrence of the number 13 is very significant and is found in Genesis 14:4. In this verse we see that people served Chedorlaomer 12 years and in the 13th year they rebelled. Every wonder why when kids become teenagers they go nuts? Right away we see the number 13 connected with rebellion. Two more examples of this can be found in Deuteronomy 31:27 (3+1+2+7=13) and 2 Chronicles 36:13 (3+6+1+3=13). Note both of these verses dealing with rebellion are connected with thirteen. In our own history here in the United States it is interesting that there were 13 colonies that rebelled against England and caused the American Revolution. One of the popular slogans during that time was “Don’t tread on me” note that this expression has 13 letters. As we will see later in this lesson the number 13 will also be connected with the anti-christ and Satan and we know the very 1st rebellion was Satan rebelling against God.
Judas Iscariot is known as the traitor. One could say he rebelled against Jesus Christ. It is interesting that when Jesus marked him as the traitor in the gospel of John it is found in John 13:26 (13 X 2 = 26). Notice also that Judas Iscariot has exactly 13 letters in his name.
To show that 13 is connected with evil or bad we can look at the very first time that the word “sinners” shows up in the word of God. The first time you see this word it is found in Genesis 13:13. What are the odds of this? Only God could do this! What also makes this interesting is the fact the sinners in this verse are the men of Sodom. The thing that was so wicked in Sodom was homosexuality (it is not a coincidence that this word has 13 letters in it) and this is shown in Genesis 19. When you think about it homosexuality is total rebellion against God. He created Adam and Eve and God is against homosexuality (Leviticus 18:22 ; Romans 1:18-32 see verses 26-27). Looking at this last reference in Romans 1:29-32 you see a list of the characteristics of the people God is talking about, and in this list the 13th one is “haters of God”. There are also said to be 13 evil things which come from a man’s heart Mark 7:20-23.
A good study for this number would be to go through the word of God and note every verse 13 and every chapter 13 and especially any where there is a chapter 13 and verse 13, such as Proverbs 13:13. Not every one of these will be negative or bad but the evidence will be overwhelmingly in that favor. Even in our society today the number 13 is connected with evil or bad luck. Many building have no 13th floor they just skip that number. Friday the 13th is supposed to be a horrible day. Why do you think these things are so? It is because the word of God is true and sets a president that man follows whether he will admit to it or not.
To connect the number 13 with the anti-christ or Satan we will look in Revelation 13:18. Notice the number of the beast which is 666 is found in the Word of God in chapter 13 verse 18 (1+3+1+8=13). Also we see that the verse number is significant with the number of the beast (6+6+6=18). Satan is said to be the dragon in Revelation 12:9, and the word dragon occurs 13 times in the book of Revelation. In Revelation 17:5 (1+7+5=13) we see a verse that reads as follows;
And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.”
The words that are in all caps are that way in a King James Bible and they are significant because there is exactly 13 words that are in all caps on the woman’s forehead and if you count the letters you will see that there are 65 letters which is 13 X 5 (remember that 5 is the number connected with death). The beast that the woman is on represents the anti-christ and the seven heads represent the seven mountains on which the woman sits. Only one city in the world sets on seven hills and that is Rome. Note the woman is clothed in purple and scarlet and has a golden cup in her hand. This can only be the hand of God in inspiring the word of God and preserving it for us just how he wanted it in the King James Bible.
For one more look at the marvelous hand of God constructing his word it is interesting to note that the Old Testament has exactly 39 books in it, which is 3 X 13. In a King James Bible the last word in the Old Testament is “curse”. This is very fitting because as a result of sin and the law man is under the curse of the law and destined to die and go to hell. But the Lord Jesus Christ came and became sin for us and died and rose again so that we could get out from under the curse of the law. This fact is found for us in Galatians 3:13 in the New Testament. What are the odds of this? God is absolutely amazing! But also look in Acts 13:39 and you will see that by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ we can be justified from all things which the law could not do. Thank God for the Lord Jesus Christ and thank him for his marvelous word and the way he put it together to reveal that he is the author and preserver of it.
