In this passage Jesus fully reveals His true identity to the Pharisees. However, since the Pharisees are in bondage to sin and therefore blind to the truth, they miss the revelation.

What is it the nature of Jesus’ true identity that He reveals in this text?

Jesus is the Truth

Jesus asks the Pharisees to identify His sin. Of course since He was without sin they could not answer Him. (John 8:46-50, Titus 1:2, Heb. 4:15, 1 Peter 2:22, 2 Cor. 5:21)

The King James Bible is the word of GOD and therefore it is the truth. Just as Jesus was without sin the KJB is without error. The question then is are you going to accept the truth of GOD’s word, or are you going to reject it and be in bondage to a lie like the Pharisees? (John 14:6, John 17:17, John 1:1, John 8:32, John 8:49, Exodus 20:12, Romans 10:14, Mark 7:10-13)

Jesus is Eternal Life

Jesus revealed His singular power over life and death. (John 8:51-55, Matt. 22:29-32, Luke 16:23-25, John 14:23-24, 1 John 5:20)

Jesus Is God Incarnate

Jesus proclaimed that He was the “I AM.” This is the Tetragrammaton, the name of GOD. (John 8:56, Exodus 3:14, John 8:28, John 18:5, Genesis 22:2, John 1:29, 2 Chron. 3:1, Heb. 11:17)
