For Christ’s Sake 2 Cor. 4:11 CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO
There are some things that we are to do simply for Christ’s sake:
For the sake of his supernatural life we are delivered unto death for him – 2 Cor 4:11, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh – like Phil 3:10 and Gal 2:20
For the sake of his supernatural power we are made weak for him – 2 Cor 12:10 – we take pleasure in infirmities, etc for Christ’s sake – he wants us dependent on his power because it is so much greater than ours – don’t complain in these things – take pleasure
For the sake of his supernatural testimony we suffer for him – Phil 1:29 we suffer at the hand of adversaries – suffering because you take a stand for him [Paul was in prison for this]
For the sake of his supernatural ministry we serve one another for him – 2 Cor 4:5 – ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake
For the sake of his supernatural foolishness we become fools for him – 1 Cor 4:10 – we are nothing without him [v.6 that no one of you be puffed up for one against another]
For the sake of his supernatural will we strive together in prayer to him – Rom 15:30 – for deliverance, protection, safety, provision, etc.
For the sake of his supernatural authority we submit ourselves unto every ordinance of man for him – 1 Pet 2:13 – submit to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake – that’s why we give thanks for all men in 1 Tim 2:1-3.
For the sake of his supernatural reward we lose our lives for him – Lk 9:24 – whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
For the sake of his supernatural salvation God hath forgiven us for him – Eph 4:32 – God hath forgiven you for Christ’s sake; that’s why we forgive others!!
Conclusion: So remember that while we expect the Lord to do a lot of things for us, there are many things that we can do for his sake.
